Internet Explorer 7 Hits The Mean Streets

It didn’t take long after Microsoft released Internet Explorer 7 for download for the exploits and vulnerabilities to appear, with many reporters and security companies scrambling over each other in order to publish about the new Internet Explorer flaw.

Only, it wasn’t.

Argument and counter-argument ensued, with Microsoft quickly defending the issue as being an Outlook Express issue and not an Internet Explorer flaw. That sleight of hand didn’t satisfy many, who pointed out that the same flaw had been identified back in April, when it was attributed to Internet Explorer 6. At the end of the day, Internet Explorer 7 is a possible vector to exploit an error in the handling of ‘mhtml:’ addresses – which can result in the disclosure of sensitive information.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the only issue to have affected Internet Explorer 7, with earlier beta versions susceptible to the WMF vulnerabilities that were identified and patched over the 2005 – 2006 Christmas / New Year period. The unknown issues with Internet Explorer 7 are going to be a greater concern over coming months, as Microsoft is expected to use Automatic Update to provide the application to Windows XP SP2 users in November.

A positive aspect is that many computer users will get to experience the improved CSS handling, improved security, tabbed browsing, and the other general improvements that Internet Explorer 7 brings to the system.

Every Dog Barks At The Moon Sometimes

Over the last couple of weeks, many security ‘experts’ and companies (including some of the biggest, most ‘respected’ names) have been busy displaying an amazing amount of hubris and arrogance in their coverage of what would normally be regarded as minor news items.

After Apple Computer disclosed that an unknown, but believed to be very small, number of iPods were shipped with some Windows malware preinstalled (claims range from virus to adware), there was an almost unanimous hammering of the company’s claims. By Windows and Microsoft supporters (such as top Information Security companies and people). Almost all of the vitriol was focussed around the “we are upset at Windows for not being more hardy against such viruses, and even more upset with ourselves for not catching it.” statement, which appeared on Apple’s site (http://www.apple.com/support/windowsvirus/) in relation to the issue.

Many called Apple ‘arrogant’, and attacked any perceived ills that they might have had with the company. Unfortunately, in their rush to attack Apple, most completely bypassed (or were unaware of) a broader incident that affected a joint promotion being run by McDonald’s and Coca-Cola in Japan, where 10,000 media players were distributed. Only, the players were infected with password stealing malware.

Elsewhere, an unnamed expert, who crusades against hysteria and false claims in security (and, more frequently, terrorism), fell into their own trap recently. They claimed that firefighters who treated jelly (the gelatinous dessert) as a potential HAZMAT threat (before it had been identified) were over-reacting to it as a terror risk. While it does sound funny that firefighters would be running around in HAZMAT suits trying to deal with somebody’s unwanted dessert, it is a fairly standard practice when emergency services are faced with unknown substances that have been abandoned.

Perhaps it is my background in aviation and engineering related fields, but nothing is done without a healthy factor of safety (risk management), and the initial response was completely appropriate. People have died because they didn’t know enough about the material that they were handling (Goiânia, Asbestosis, Miner’s Lung, and others). Sometimes the simple answer is the correct answer, even if it might be misconstrued.

Traveling for the Holidays

Are you tired of the same old traditions for the holidays? Are the holidays bringing you down because they become so much work and preparation you find you can’t enjoy yourself? This year, instead of your family and loved ones coming to your home, you might want to try traveling for the holidays.

Many tourist attractions offer special pricing and benefits for those families wanting to spend the holidays away from home, they offer a comforting alternative with a lot less clean up. Thanksgiving can be a treat in the rocky mountains of Colorado or the quaint hills of Tennessee.

Many restaurants offer catering for your dinner. This way, the cooks can spend that time relaxing by the fireplace or spending that well-deserved time off with family instead of slaving at the stove. Alternatively, if you’re a person that enjoys cooking for the Thanksgiving, then there are comfortable cabins or hotels with kitchenettes available so that the cook can still prepare that delicious Thanksgiving Turkey or ham.

If you have small children what better way to spend Christmas than at a resort like Disney World or at a ski resort. Your children can enjoy having Mickey Mouse tuck them in at night.

If Disney isn’t your thing, don’t despair, many other places offer neat things such as Elf Tuck in service for your children at night and pictures with Santa Clause during the daytime. The holiday rates are usually lower during this season so you can better afford to travel during the Thanksgiving and Christmas season.

You might want to consider contacting your travel agent to check for special pricing for the season. They could help you plan your entire trip from the moment you leave the airport to the moment you return home. If you’re a do-it-yourself type of person, then the Internet is a great place to begin your search for a holiday travel destination.

Although the holidays are usually associated with the colder weather, getting the Christmas chills isn’t for everyone. If you and your loved ones aren’t much on the cold weather during Christmas Holidays, you might want to travel to the islands of Hawaii or to Florida so you can enjoy the warmer climate and take-in some Christmas traditions from other parts of the country.

Light up the Yule Log on the beach this year. Have fun decorating a palm tree for Christmas. If you’re reading to really spread your wings for the holidays, talk to your travel agent about traveling abroad! There are all sorts of different ways to celebrate a traditional holiday away from your home. You might even find some new traditions to bring back with you and make them a part of your own.

Using Risk Reversal Closes More Sales

When you minimize risk in purchasing decisions a lot more people are willing to say “yes”. Once they sample your product or service, if it performs as you say, most customers will keep that product and continue buying again and again.

Here’s a little story to illustrate my point.

A farmer wanted to buy a hunting dog for his son. There were two for sale in a nearby town. The first seller told the farmer he was asking $300 for his bloodhound, non-negotiable.

The second seller told the farmer about his bloodhound, long before he mentioned a price or asked for a commitment. He said the puppy was from a long line of champion bloodhounds, well-known in the area for their tracking skills. And he brought out the puppy’s mother and father and explained that they were like members of the family – very loyal and constant companions for the last six years.

The man went on to tell the farmer that he wanted the farmer’s son to try out the puppy for a month before he had to make any decision. He offered to provide an extra kennel and a month’s worth of food for the puppy. Finally, he said, at the end of 30 days, he would drive out to the farmer’s house and either take back the puppy, or ask then to be paid.

Which puppy do you suppose the farmer decided to purchase for his son? Obviously there was no question. And there will be no question for you if you apply strong risk reversal into every sales offer you make. What exactly do I mean by a strong risk reversal? I’m referring to an iron-clad guarantee that eliminates all, or most of all of the customer risk in the transaction.

The clearer, stronger and more detailed the guarantee, the more credibility and impact it will have on a buyer. Consider how much more powerful it is if instead of saying, “your satisfaction is guaranteed,” you say, “we unconditionally guarantee performance for a full 30 days.” That’s better, wouldn’t you agree? But, what if you went a step further and said, “No questions asked, 100% money-back guarantee anytime within 60 days if my product doesn’t perform exactly as promised.” That’s even better. But you could go still further by saying, “No questions asked, 100% money-back guarantee. If you don’t experience noticeable and measurable improvements in your speaking abilities, a wider vocabulary, and bolder voice delivery, if you don’t get the results we promised within 90 days of using our system, we’ll gladly give you a complete and immediate refund of your full purchase price, no questions asked…that’s our guarantee to you.”

Notice the difference a strong and specific risk-reversed performance guarantee can make? When you apply risk reversal this way, your sales almost always skyrockets, and stays that way. You make more sales, sell larger purchase units and sell more frequently when people don’t worry about making the wrong or bad buying decision.

When you incorporate risk reversal, you essentially eliminate your prospect’s fear that they will make a bad, incorrect or damaging purchasing decision. That’s an extremely powerful, persuasive point to make. It moves anyone who’s indecisive or mildly interested and turns them into highly favorable prospects. If people are trying to decide between you and one or more of your competitors, it tips the level of the playing field significantly to your advantage.

Just adding risk reversal and a purchase strong guarantee to your sales offer makes a powerful difference.

There are a variety of approaches to the risk reversal strategy:

* A software vendor guarantees its product will reduce manufacturing costs by at least 10 percent.

* A copywriter offers his services for free if his direct mail package pulls less than a 5 percent response.

* A commercial water filter distributor offers to buy back any filtering units not sold in the first 3 months.

* An interior decorator agrees (in writing) not to be paid until her customers are completely satisfied with the work she’s done.

If you don’t employ some form of risk reversal, start doing it right away. If your current guarantee is short and vague, enhance your copy with more specifics and more attractive terms.

If your product or service is high quality and meets performance expectations, the longer the guarantee and the more specific the performance promise you make, the more people will buy. It’s that simple.

Typically a 60-day guarantee will out pull 30 days by 20 to 100%. Test it yourself and see what results you get. The more specific you get in describing what “satisfaction” means, the more compelled they become to act in order to experience that benefit for themselves.

If you’re concerned that employing a strong risk reversal will cost you in product returns and lower profits, don’t be. Typically, unless your product or service is flawed or just plain inferior in terms of meeting customer expectations, the number of people exercising a refund guarantee is negligible. But the increase in people taking you up on the initial sales offer is anything but negligible.

Relationship Advice: Schedule time

The key to a happy relationship is being together with each other. The closer you are to your partner the better relation you inculcate. What so ever the relationship, whether it is parent child, husband wife or girlfriend boyfriend, all need to spend time together to know and to understand each other well. Less time spent together widens the gap between the partners. You feel lack of communication when you don’t meet often resulting in lack of intimacy with your partner.

In your daily hustle and bustle you have to set time accordingly amongst work, children parents and partners therefore Time Management is very important in our lives to keep our work and relationship going.

24 hours in a day seem to be very less in busy world of today. You have to keep pace with time as is just runs away without you realize. You have to distribute time between your work, family and relationships. For all this, time management is a must.

Be organized! Try to complete your work on time, never keep it for tomorrow. The first step in the process of time management is to be organized! If possible make a time table to jot your work and try to complete it on the given time period. Not to forget to keep time for personal relationships. Secondly you should try not to make commitments with the loved ones when you are not sure, let it be more of a surprise. It will definitely improve your relationship. When you make a promise and break it embitters the relationship, especially when it becomes a daily routine. Relationships tend to worsen when you commit to spend time together with your loved one and land up in a disappointment.

Setting priorities is an important factor to get going in a smooth way. You have your priorities set and you know exactly which way to go, off course you have to be unbiased in setting your priorities between your work and relationships. Work comes first! There is no denying the fact but relationships are equally important. Just think of a situation – you and only you along with your work and nobody to love you, care for you! At times you have to just keep aside your work and take out time for your partner to make your relationship strong. Plan a holiday, if that’s not possible plan a dinner out or just take a walk with him/her for a few minutes to be together and see your relationship growing. Have fun over silly things that make no sense, they will just make you laugh and help your relationship grow. This only lightens the tensed day that you had at work and gets a kind of energy and freshness that is amazing.

With the hectic daily life or a job that keeps you both away – Keep in Touch! Make a phone call whenever you get time even if it is a minute to show that you care and see the difference. You will never be anywhere near to the point of separation.

Remember not to mingle work and home. When at work do the job with full sincerity while at home completely forget your work. It has to be only you and your partner. You both will feel that sincerity and commitment between the two of you.

If you have of children then try to divide responsibilities among yourself in the best suitable way so that you get time for yourself. Plan out a picnic where you your partner and children can enjoy as well as where you get time with your partner in aloofness. TO KEEP YOUR RELATIONSHIP ALIVE – overcome the barrier of time in the best possible way -SCHEDULE TIME.

Supply Chain Integration Solutions

Let’s take a quick look and analyze your position in the Supply Chain. You are either the one driving the truck, the one pumping the gas, or the one paying the other two. It does not matter if you are a vendor, supplier, manufacturer, dealer, service supplier or customer, the cost of freight either impacts the amount you charge, the amount you are reimbursed or the price you pay. It is safe to assume that you are the center of the universe for your personal Supply Chain and that suppliers and customers revolve around your business. That was easy, now let’s move on.

A zeitgeist must first understand how the threads of history have been woven to reflect the patchwork quilt of the current generation, and only then endeavor to peer into the next. Let’s take a moment to contrast emerging communication technologies as reflected with Supply Chain Solutions and transportation.

The Pony Express

The famous Pony Express operated from April 1860 to November 1861. The cost of mail was $5 per 1/2 ounce, later reduced to $1 per 1/2 ounce. The quickest run took 7 days and 17 hours to carry President Lincoln’s inaugural address from St. Joseph, Missouri to Sacramento, California.

In 1825, British inventor William Sturgeon exhibited a device that laid the foundation for electronic communications, the electro-magnet. By 1830, an American, Joseph Henry used Sturgeon’s device to send an electric current over one mile of wire which caused a bell to strike. By 1838 Samuel Morse gave a public demonstration of an electromagnetic device that embossed dots and dashes on a piece of paper. Five years later, Congress funded development to construct an experimental telegraph line. On May 24, 1844, the message “What hath God wrought?” was transmitted from the Supreme Court chamber in the United States Capitol to an office in Baltimore and officially opened the first completed telegraph line. Western Union built a transcontinental telegraph line in 1861, and suddenly news by wire traveled faster and reached more people than the parcels by Pony.

On March 10, 1876 Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone. Telephones quickly surpassed telegraphs as lines were installed, because it brought instant communication and connectivity to the common man. Instant communication by phone quickly replaced Morse Code and Mail to stay connected.

Consolidated Freight, Low Rates and Speed

In 1907 James Casey borrowed $100 from a friend to establish the American Messenger System in Seattle, Washington. The 19 year old founded his company on the principles of courtesy, reliability and low rates. By 1913 his company acquired it’s first automobile to consolidate shipments and carry more goods. In 1919 the company changed it’s name to United Parcel Services, and in 1922 it acquired a Los Angeles company with innovative “common carrier” services. In 1929 UPS was the first package delivery company to use airlines, serving all US states by 1978.

On the first night of continuous operation In 1971, 14 Federal Express jets delivered 186 packages overnight to 25 cities. By 1981 Federal Express introduced the overnight letter and expanded service into Canada. In 1985, bar code labeling was introduced to trace packages. By 1995 FedEx acquires air routes with international authority to serve China. Ten years later FedEx announces development of a new Asia Pacific hub in China, and around the world flights Eastbound and Westbound.

The first recorded transcripts of a “Galactic Network” are attributed to J.C.R. Licklider of MIT in 1962. In 1964 Leonard Kleinrock of MIT published a book on the theoretical feasibility of communications using packet switching rather than circuits. The concept of open architecture networking was introduced by Kahn in 1972, and subsequently became known as a program called “Internetting”. In 1991 Modems transmitted data at 14.4 kilobits per second. Speeds doubled to 28.8k by 1994, and eventually to 56k. Meanwhile, Bob Metcalf and David Boggs had developed the Ethernet at Xerox Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) in 1973. Xerox, DEC and Intel invested in development and agreed to make the technology free to anyone to build. By 1981 the technology emerged from the laboratory to the public as 3Com shipped the first Ethernet Hardware. As the ability to move parcels overnight has improved dramatically, so has the ability to transmit packets by increasingly high speed connections.

The Next Generation of Supply Chain Integration

Common approaches to improving the supply chain involve faster delivery or lower cost for transportation. Solutions are typically centered on geographic locations of hubs, consolidated carriers and maximized routes. In some cases the response is a galleria of products and processes housed in a consolidated campus, while another strategy promotes multiple regional facilities for geographic convenience. There is a common theme that the supply chain is viewed as a freight problem with a geographic solution. The dilemma of reducing cost is measured in time or transportation, with the scales continuously pivoting to and fro. Sometimes the objectives favor customer satisfaction, speed to market and the ability to deliver, while in other instances the burden favors the bottom line.

Fortunately there is an alternative. It is not about moving products more quickly, or choosing the most economical method of transportation, or the geography. The new objective for business is moving items less.

For years companies have utilized computers and internal IT development to create sophisticated reports that measure business according to antiquated rules. The idea that generating forecasts for purchasing and rotating inventory is based on the assumption that stock must be owned and managed in-house. IT development has been used to provide expanded reports and expedited processes based on existing procedures. This frequently results in a company investing millions of dollars to improve algorithms that forecast purchases, increasing manual intervention to correct predictions in direct proportion to the number of variables. Not surprisingly, such IT investments typically do not yield the desired bottom line results.

Next generation of Supply Chain Integration utilizes network connectivity with multiple vendors to reduce freight, transportation, geographical boundaries and in some cases ownership. IT development is focused on integrating partners in collective, secure and collaborative networks for shared visibility and planning. Data is moved more effectively and efficiently than products, parts or parcels. Ownership transfers when orders transmit, and inventory is managed in a manner that mitigates movement. Vendor Managed Inventory can be achieved simultaneously with multiple vendors and numerous customer partners through sophisticated impartial third party integrators. The exchange of products and purchases can be replaced by a data exchange, creating total cost reductions that benefit the bottom line.

The next generation of Supply Chain Integration can be achieved by major manufacturers, dealers, distributors and service providers through third party integration and common platforms. The greatest savings in the supply chain are not related to a truck, a plane or a warehouse. The greatest efficiencies in the supply chain are coming from IT. Much like the impact of the telephone and telegraph to the Pony Express, the Internet is providing the next generation of improvements for our supply chain.

This concept is already entrenched in e-commerce. Individuals operating home based businesses are selling goods on eBay, procuring supply in direct proportion to demand. It is not uncommon for individuals to sell products on eBay that are acquired from a local vendor or craftsman. The seller on eBay is the impartial third party integrator between the supply and the demand, leveraging the convenience of the Internet to connect the interested parties. This is a very simple example of using technology to minimize inventory ownership by maximizing technology. Imagine how much more effective the solution can be for complex integration of multiple suppliers with diverse geographic locations and reduced transfer of inventory. This is the concept of the next generation of Supply Chain Integration.

We are only at the beginning of this transformation. Some companies have already realized the financial benefits of leveraging IT solutions to maximize and compress the supply chain. Recognizing and understanding this transformation is the first step, what you do with this knowledge is the next. Experts in technology and supply chain solutions are available to help guide you and offer the secure buffer that is your link between multiple vendors. The direction is not as difficult as you may imagine. Trade in your microscope from studying your exchange of products or parts, and turn it in for your periscope to data exchange.

Military Communication During Government Deployments

Your spouse has recently been deployed, Again. You are trying to juggle all of your responsibilities, stay sane and stay in touch while he or she is overseas. You are already stressed out over the fact that your loved one will be gone for such a long time and now you find out there is no cheap way to stay in touch. It looks like you will have to limit your phone calls, or does it?

While your soldier is overseas; whether it be Iraq, Kuwait, Korea, Germany or elsewhere family and friends need to know that calling him or her does not have to be an expensive or stressful ordeal, nor should it be. Over the years the U.S. Military has deployed to several locations overseas and many soldiers have enjoyed low rate Military International phone cards. It is important for you to know that there are companies out there that really do care about our armed forces and want to provide them with the lowest possible international phone card rates during their deployment.

Choosing the right soldier calling card should not be a hassle either. Unfortunately, phone services provided by the military could be considered by some as a monopoly. In many locations in which our soldiers deploy phone centers are set up in which a soldier must pay high rates to contact their loved ones. When there is little to no resources to choose from many soldiers resort to the expensive phone centers in order to speak with their friends and family at home.

There is always the PX right? The Post Exchange is an alternative to the phone centers but they to offer only calling cards provided by one or two companies. These companies may not have gotten picked up by the PX because of their quality it may have had something to do with the price they have to pay and the profit made.

If you do a little research, ask some questions and read more articles much like this one, you just might find a calling card company that will provide you with the service you expect as a service member or Dependant at a very low price. Once you find the military international calling card that provides you with the service you expect at a good price, be sure to let your friends know so that they can enjoy the no stress, no hassle communication with their loved ones as well.

Made In Heaven, Finished In Hell

Thinking of tying the knot but not sure if it’s a case of Mr/Miss Right? Before waltzing down the aisle hear what’s in the heart of the matter and what matters to the heart.

Since that fateful removal of one rib, scientists have been trying to decipher the chromosome pattern that would explain the difference between men and women and John Gray has been publishing one volume after the other in his attempt to align Mars and Venus in a single constellation. And since the similarly apocalyptic biting of the apple, women have been pointing their accusatory fingers at the lads who, whenever they hear the word ‘commitment’ run away to a different time zone. On the other hand, men continue to attribute madness to the female sex. Even to their mothers. Especially to their mothers.

Despite all this and the singles’ devotion to the joys of singledom and cynicism towards love, people do want to be together and form relationships. But good liaisons are rare and relationships are hard for everybody. The reason is that love is truly, madly and deeply a complicated situation the symptoms of which are very close to those of mental disturbances. Even the language of love has the unhinged ring of a psychiatrist’s notes about it – I’m crazy about him; she drives me nuts; I want you so bad; it’s driving me mad.

Indeed, falling in love is madness. But so is staying in a relationship which is not working. Thankfully, relationships are no longer seen as obligations to keep at all costs. When your ties with someone start to tie you up and a relationship turns from a bond to a burden, you can very well pack your bags and leave. After all, life is too short to waste it on a toxic partner.

On the other hand, if you want to keep your soulmate, love is sometimes not enough and you have to work on romance, quality time, commitment and acceptance.

The Flirting Queen Wooing and flirting are normally associated with a relationship’s first few months or until you assume that you know everything about the likes, dislikes and relationship history of your partner. Then the flowers go out of the window and the slow rituals of courtship are replaced by instant demands and cut and dried conversations.

Romance has two requisite ingredients. The first is the pleasure of seeing your partner as an interesting person about whom there are new things to discover. The second is the adventurous spirit and the occasional dragon-slaying that hit the refresh button on a relationship. So ask your partner out for dates (there is the added bonus of not fearing a total rebuff), buy them gifts and woo them, because if you give up on romance, the fantasy in your relationship will disappear. And, since flirting is the froth of love, smooch like a couple of teenagers and seduce your partner with romantic gestures.

A Healthy Dose of Narcissism Romance has the added benefit of letting us share the other person’s delight in getting to know or rediscover us. It also makes us feel accepted which in turn adds to the self-esteem that is so important for a solid relationship.

When you like and accept yourself, you will feel confident and secure enough to overcome your own shortcomings and take responsibility for your own feelings. You make yourself angry or sad and not your partner. And this should help you give your partner the benefit of the doubt and admit any mistakes you might have made.

Thus, you will be able to appreciate your partner for who they really are and what they do instead of feeling that you need to hang on to them in order to survive in the big, bad world. And unless you love and appreciate yourself, it is hard to imagine that anyone else will.

Taking care of yourself and looking good is also a sign of respect both for yourself and your partner. Having nose hair, a unibrow and a bad haircut is like saying to your partner that you do not really care how you or they look.

Curiosity doesn’t always kill the cat As Isaac Asimov wrote in his New Guide to Science, ‘almost in the beginning was curiosity’. Now, relationships are as far removed from science as a Van der Graaf generator is from a blender, but the same rule applies.

Being inquisitive is a relationship’s carrot on a stick. Showing zeal and believing that the other can still intrigue you with new things is essential for a relationship’s growth. You need to yearn for your partner, ask questions, call or message when apart and show interest when together.

Curiosity should not be mistaken for nosiness, and if your partner calls you every two seconds to ask for the exact latitude and longitude of your position, then probably you are going out with a stalker. So do not poke your nose into delicate affairs such as who has he phoned lately, otherwise, curiosity may kill the cat.

Do things together The most successful couples are those who, even if they have a busy schedule and their diary is choc-a-block with appointments, make spending time together a priority.

Share your hopes, fears and dreams with your partner and keep in touch with what is happening in your lives. Make sure that every second with your partner counts because being together is about quality time rather than rotting in front of the telly without saying a word. Of course, making time entails sacrificing other activities, but quality time is an investment in your future happiness.

Spending time with each other, exploring new things and doing favours for your partner are important. A successful relationship is a tennis-like exchange of favours; a back and forth of reciprocity because it is just nice to do things for your partner.

Does it need fixing? YOU KNOW YOUR RELATIONSHIP WORKS IF: a) Both of you accept change as an inevitable part of life and adapt to it together b) You do not look at other people’s relationships for solutions c) You are both committed to each other d) There is a mild and healthy level of jealousy which protects your relationship e) You look after your partner and give each other confidence.

YOU SHOULD LEAVE YOUR PARTNER IF: a) You are no longer able to communicate your feelings b) You are willing to let your relationship suffer in order to dedicate more time to work, business or friends c) Your relationship has become a conflict cycle and arguing leaves you hurt and wondering if you want to stay d) You are being emotionally or psychologically bullied e) There is violence or threats of violence and your partner is aggressive – remember that there is life after an abusive relationship.

Be your own PR agent Good communication is the only way you can openly and honestly tell your partner who you are, what you want and how you feel. When we talk and listen, we are giving each other the entry pass for our private thoughts and emotions. Make sure you sit down and have a nice talk not only when trouble looms ahead but also as part of your relationship maintenance routine.

It is also important to accept that we all have our differences and that arguments are a normal part of every relationship. However, stick to productive rather than destructive arguing – a good argument is an opportunity to share feelings, strengthen your bond and compromise while admitting that your partner may have different opinions than yours.

Effective communication is also when we are polite and show respect to each other. Being in a relationship with someone does not mean that you or they should throw ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ out of the window.

How Do You Benefit From A Registry Cleaner

These days, more and more computer users are using registry cleaner software to keep the registry clean and to keep their computers in good health. Computers are the information highway of the 21st century, and most households in the United States use computers for various reasons. The more you use your computer, more information gets stored in its registry. The benefit of a registry cleaner is that it helps ‘slim’ down the registry by removing the unnecessary data thereby making your computer run faster. The registry of your computer is the section where all applications create entries for temporary data, and these entries are never deleted by on their own. The more data your computer processes, the more bloated your registry gets, often slowing down your computer.

It is necessary that you use a window registry cleaner, periodically, to remove all the unnecessary data in the registry. Over time the invalid entries, resulting from uninstalling or incorrectly removing of the software accumulate in the registry. A registry cleaner simply deletes these entries from the registry and helps your system to function at its optimum level.

The Benefits of Cleaning The Registry

This is normally what most computer users do:

* Frequently install or uninstall programs * Delete software that was never really fully “uninstalled”

Alternately, your computer may have an embedded Spyware, or you may have unused but undeleted drivers in your system. All such accumulated problems can lead to stalls in the system, or reduced operating speeds. This is where a registry cleaner comes in handy. Before the problems rise to such levels, cleaning your registry periodically gets rid of all these extra entries; trimming your registry down and making your computer run at a faster speed.

With improvements in technology, newer window registry cleaners are coming in the market with new improved features:

* A registry cleaner with a scan and repair feature scans the entire registry records, and does not eliminate valid records. It leaves your computer with a ‘trimmed’ registry and a better computer performance. * There is a feature that is similar to de-fragmentation of the files. It removes the empty spaces and fragments, making the computer run faster. * Certain registry cleaners come with special features that detect and clean the embedded keys that are generally undetectable. These embedded keys have malicious codes that are used by malware (malicious software). * Most registry cleaning software have a ‘schedule and forget’ feature, which allows you to set a schedule for a registry scan, fix, backup, and eliminate the routine unnecessary entries in the registry.

When you first install a new system, you will most probably, never notice a registry problem. As your usage increases, the frivolous entries in your registry become larger and larger, especially with the installation and removal of software, drivers, and other components. This slows down your complete system. This is where you benefit the most from using a registry cleaner that deletes these unnecessary entries and increases the operating speed of your system.

Top 5 Natural Ways To Reduce Your Blood Pressure

1. Try Yoga: Yoga is a great way to reduce stress, which contributes to hypertension. But there are some poses in particular recommended for those wanting to improve their cardiac health. These include:

* forward bends like virasana and upavista konasana, which are both sitting postures. * horizontal asanas which allow the heart beat to slow down when they are practised slowly and rhythmically * asanas like uttanasana and adhomukha savasana

2. Regular exercise: It doesn’t have to be yoga. Any regular exercise like walking, biking or gardening is great for lowering blood pressure. Your physician will be able to give you an exercise plan that suits your heart condition and physical fitness levels. It’s important not to overdo it too quickly. Tai chi is actually an excellent way to reduce hypertension. Like yoga, it is relaxing, rhythmical, a stress reducer, and has great benefit on the nervous and parasympathetic systems within the body.

Having a regular exercise program may even reduce your need for blood pressure medication.

3. Eat more bananas! Bananas are high in potassium, which is great for reducing hypertension. Other dietary improvements include eating more fruit and vegetables generally. Studies have found 8 servings of fruit and vegetables daily to be preferable, with these having a particular benefit for cardiovascular health:

* Lettuce * spinach * cauliflower * cabbage * broccoli * swiss chard * citrus fruits

And when these changes are combined with exercise, there are more significant improvements in blood pressure.

4. Make sure you get your folic acid: A study by the Harvard Medical School looked at the benefits of folic acid on blood pressure, and found it to be highly beneficial, particularly amongst younger women. It seemed to have a protective effect against hypertension. Younger women who took at least 1mg of folic acid a day lowered their risk of hypertension by 46%. Older women who had reasonable amounts of folic acid daily lowered their risk by 18%. The study was conducted on 156,000 nurses, 19,720 of whom had high blood pressure.

5. Blessed chocolate: Dark chocolate, and foods and supplements that had high levels of cocoa including chocolate confectionary, cocoa sandwich filling and drinks, have been found to be associated with a lower blood pressure and reduced risk of dying from any cause in a small study conducted on 470 elderly men (they were on average 72 7ears old). The study followed them for 15 years, and those that ate more than 2.3 grams of cocoa a day had lower blood pressure than those that didn’t. Researchers believe it is the flavanol component of cocoa that provides this beneficial effect.

Before thinking this is a green light to eat lots of chocolate, you’ll need about 100 grams of dark chocolate a day to get the blood pressure benefits. That equates to an extra 500 calories per 100 grams, with an average fat content of 30%. Raw cocoa is not well taken by people when it is eaten in large amounts. The calorie and fat considerations need to be taken into account, although there are some chocolate bars out there that have a higher flavanol content.

Your New Baby Can Cost You $20,000 in the First Two Years!

Having kids is an expensive endeveor! Just think about all of the new things that a baby brings to the equation:

Housing: Despite what my mother says, you can’t keep the baby in the bottom drawer of your dresser. So he/she is going to need their own room. If you already have the space, then you just have to factor in an increase in gas, electricity, water, home repairs, appliance repairs, home furnishings, etc. Kids can be hard on appliances and furnishings, so don’t expect your things to last as long as they used to. If your home isn’t big enough, then you may have to buy/rent a bigger one. So factor in the cost of increased rent and mortgage payments.

Food: If you breastfeed (which I highly recommend) then you will save a great deal of money on formula for the first year of babies life. Deciding to make your own baby food, will save you even more. But you will need to factor in the cost of nutritious meals for mom and the supplies needed to make your own baby food. If you go the formula/baby food route then you can expect to spend anywhere from $100-200 dollars a month on formula.

Transportation: Here again, if you have been driving a mini van all along, you are ahead of the game. If you drive a small car- you will want to look into getting something larger. Factor in extra gas for all those visits to the doctors office, and the grocery store (because you will go more often once the baby comes.)

Clothing: Now this is one category that some parents have a weakness for. Those tiny little pink and blue outfits can really put a strain on your budget- especially when you consider that your little one will probably go through 3-4 outfits a day for the first 12 months of their life.

Healthcare: Your insurance premiums will go up and many insurance companies will also raise your deductible when you go from a “couple” to a “family.” Little ones will need to go in for immunizations and well baby visits every month or two, and there is usually a co-pay involved there as well. The actual pregnancy and labor and delivery can also set you back a couple of thousand dollars depending on your insurance company.

Childcare: If you plan on sending your child to daycare or have a nanny in your home you can expect to easily spend at least $500-1000 dollars a month.

Miscellaneous: There are a ton of little things that you will need along the way, so it’s always a good idea to have a bit of cushion in your budget.
